When Photographers And Writers Work Together

This has been an ongoing working relationship for a very long time now, staring with basic news reporting. What, in your opinion, is the most important aspect of these two types of "artists" that, when taken together, makes both of their art forms better than if they were standing alone?

A picture can tell a thousand words, but they're also easy to misinterpret without some context. That's where the article comes in. Marrying the two together can you make you feel like you were there, experiencing the same things.

It's a shame that stock photos are slowly replacing photojournalism in some newspapers.

They bring different strengths to the table in a complimentary way. Images often convey emotions in a way that an objective news article can't and news articles often explain the facts and details in a way that an image can't.

I feel that the two go together, but photographers, whose craft is more demanding (in my view), get the lesser credit. The beauty of photography is that it is versatile, and captioning a photo doesn't necessarily reduce its significance! A news article only tells a portion of the story!
