Misplaced equipment

I once misplaced a lens cap while working in the field. It was not easy to find it because I didn't have an estimation of when I last used it. Luckily, someone found it as dusk was approaching. Have you ever had such an experience?

Yes, and I never found it. I was shooting a baseball game and have no idea where the cap went. I used a pill bottle lid until I could get a replacement.

Although I haven't lost a lens cap yet, I have lost flash cards and batteries before. @CreativeSet, I'm glad someone found it. That had to be stressful. @Paul Stevens, I'd worry about it scratching the lens. It's good that it worked out for you.
