Making it look real

Sweet Takes

I can't tell you how many times I have turned off a movie because the stunt, or even the stunt actor didn't look real/right. How do you find that person who "matches" your actor/actress? Or how do you shoot the scene to make them look like they are the same person?

Wow that's a tough one. I guess it's not so easy to find a stunt actor who looks exactly like the main one. That's why they make the scenes look far or try to make them quick I guess? But then again, I don't really like action movies that much, so there's that :D

I only know that stuntmen/women replaced the lead actor/actress during a cut. Make-up artists might be responsible for making the doubles look like the actual. Having the same height or body build with the lead might be enough. More so if the scenes won't focus on the face.

I've never noticed it. I'll have to look more closely from now on, because there are plenty of examples out there. I've heard that some people make a living doing the job.
