Live Streaming

What are some options for live streaming software for YouTube and/or Facebook? I have seen so many live videos on both platforms and I am not sure how they do it.

Don't they just need to click on the "live" option on either Facebook or YouTube? I didn't know a specific piece of software was needed for this.

That's what I think too. I guess that in the past you needed a specific software for that, but not anymore. At least, this is what I know.
