Lighting for Video vs Photos

Are there any differences between lighting for video shoots and lighting for photography sessions? Or is it the same thing? There are so many options to choose from on the market and it's a bit confusing as I am not an expert in this :D

There is a difference, but you can use the lights for both settings to create different looks. For instance, if you use video lights to shoot a portrait you'll get a more dramatic effect. It's one of those things that is fun to play around with.

One cool effect to play with, is to use a strobe light for shooting still images. You'll need to adjust the shutter speed and the aperture to get the full effect.

Do you mean in terms of intensity? I think it depends on the kind of effect you want to achieve. Therefore, it will vary depending on the scene and surroundings. In this industry, you can be creative and experiment with what is not conventional.
