Kodak Getting Into The Pharma Game

The Government has given Kodak a $700 million + dollar loan to get started in the Pharmaceutical industry in order to lessen our dependence on Chinese drugs. I for one think this is good news. The only time I can remember the Government giving a big corporation a loan for a good purpose.

Thoughts?

It is a good idea, but there needs to be a watchdog group or two monitoring this. Make sure all the money goes where it's intended to. Are these 700 million dollars coming from taxpayers?

The moment I read this, I wondered where a venerable photography company would venture into drug manufacturing? Much as this is a dramatic business reinvention, it could be a radical business strategy that pays off in the end.

It has been a while since I read about or heard of Kodak. There seems to be more than meets the eye here, considering the bankruptcy settlements reached with the company about six years ago. Like @Mobile5 mentions, a watchdog group or two is necessary.
