Filming Sports

I have always wondered about how the setup for sporting events gets done; especially in ski, and biathlon. How many people work on a single game for example? What kind of cameras are used? And what about the angles?

Those are great questions! I really don't know. I would think that in fast moving sports, you would need a few people with cameras. When I watch football games, they have multiple people working.

Regardless of the model, it's a must for the cameras to have the ability to focus well because the subjects will be moving fast. You might want to try cameras with a bigger sensor.

Multiple cameras are probably needed, especially with sports requiring a big playing field. There are also the bikers who would race long distances. I must have overlooked this amount of work when filming competitions.

It's a given that there will be more cameras, but what amazes me is the transition of changing the angle's view consistently. There must be a lot of planning before the games to make filming easier.
