Do plot twists make it easier than writing chronologically?

When writing a screenplay, sometimes the writer would likely get indecisive with the multitude of ideas being thought of at once. Trying to think about the next scene can be harder than it seems than making something up and connecting it to a certain situation. Do you think that maybe starting with a plot twist is easier?

One of my writer friends starts with the plot twist in mind. He typically builds the rest story around that. I think every writer works differently though. There's no one best way to go about it.

I guess whatever works. I scribble a lot and wait for ideas to come up so writing in a chronological manner just hinders my progress.
