Converting video formats

I need to convert some old videos into a more modern format. What type of software do you guys recommend for this task? I don't have a large enough budget to send them off.

Try converting your files with Audacity. I'll warn you that there's a steep learning curve, but there are tons of guides on the web and the software is free. There isn't much it can't do.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've heard a bit about Audacity before and there's a strong fan base for it. I guess I'll give it a try.

I've heard of Audacity and the various options offered on this platform. Lots of free software exist, but it can be hard to come across reliable ones. You can even subscribe to a trial version depending on the terms and conditions.

I'll look at it, but I don't like how much space those programs can take. I'm always looking at my storage space numbers because speed is important to me online.
